Pasi Valoranta and Jukka Muilu founded Energiakolmio in the spring of 1995. Initially the operative concept included electricity acquisition and remote reading, which was complemented with consumption reporting.

The service selection has extended to include comprehensive energy management to which our EnerKey.com service concept offers an outsourced solution.

While the concept has extended, our customer base has expanded significantly to cover, in addition to Finland, other Nordic countries. Our position as the leading, independent expert in the energy business is based on the determined improvement of expertise and constant product development.

The merger with MVM Energiatieto Oy in 2007 added strong IT know-how to Energiakolmio’s operations. Our EnerKey internet service and the used energy calculation and remote reading solutions are our own products.

On corporate acquisition, effective from 30th May 2008, Energiakolmio's whole capital stock was transferred to Atel Skandinavia Holding AS (later Alpiq Nordic). This merger gives Energiakolmio the know-how and resources of the large international Alpiq Group as a background, and a possibility to offer its services to European markets. 

Our business idea is still to be a reliable and impartial partner in issues related to energy management as an outsourced expert at the cutting edge of development in the energy business.
